JOHOR BARU: A distraught mother hopes for nothing more than the return of her 11-year-old son who went missing eight days ago.
Julia Isnin, 40, said the last time she saw Mohd Azhari Mohd Shaari was before she went out to do grocery shopping last Wednesday (Nov 23).
“Usually, my son would go out to play with his friends at a park near my house in Flat Desa Mutiara here, and would be back home before night.
“But I realised something was wrong when he did not return after 9pm that day,” she said, adding that her son is the third child in the family.
She and some relatives searched for her son, who has a twin brother, at several places but failed to find him.
“I am so worried about my son since he is only an 11-year-old boy,” she said, adding that Mohd Azhari was wearing a red t-shirt and black pants on the day he went missing.
However at around 10am Thursday, a friend alerted her that her son was loitering at a hypermarket in Taman Suria here.
“I rushed to the premise but as soon as I reached there, he was nowhere to be found,” she said.
She and her husband Mohd Shaari Mubin, 42, then lodged a police report at the Dato’ Onn police station at 10.31am Thursday.
Julia urged anyone with information about her son’s whereabouts to contact her at 017-7806404.
Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Sulaiman Salleh confirmed the case and police are investigating the matter as a missing persons case.
